February

Just wondering how to add pictures to the blog...  I'll figure it out for next time.

Once again dreading writing this as it seems like an admission of failure to reach my goal of 100 books.  This month I managed to read a mere 4 books, they weren't short, but that is a poor excuse.

1.  First up... A Great and Terrible King: Edward I by Marc Morris.  378 pages.  This was good history with some, but not too many anecdotes.  Apparently King Arthur was a historical figment of our collective imagination.  I'm OK with that.

2. The second book I've read by Neil Gaiman.  American Gods, 592 pages.  It was aiight.  I might read another Gaiman, just give me time.

3. Gryftoppia by Matt Taibbi, 232 pages.  Just my favorite journalist reminding me why I hate Goldman Sachs.  This book makes me sick and want to be another nationality that doesn't treat it citizens as such chattel.

4.  And finally the Medieval French Romance of Erec and Enide by Chretien de Troyes, 252 pages.  I love medieval, especially when it starts off with a dwarf whipping gentle-ladies.  And then the dwarf whipped our eponymous hero Erec--brilliant.  Not many laughs after that, but still some good stuff in there.  I love how in the name of allegory many a medieval poet threw aside realism.

Nt many books, but a good selection as far as I'm concerned.  I need to add pics.
